#StrongEurope The Dresden Stadtfest is the biggest weekend event in the city throughout the year. Around 700,000 people roam the beautiful streets of #Dresden during this three day weekend festival. The U.S. Army Europe Band and Chorus had the privilege to perform for the community of Dresden and its visitors. We would like to thank U.S. Consulate General Leipzig for inviting us. Performances like these have a major impact - it strengthens our relationships with our allies and also connects people through music. Imagine rucking in formation 25 miles... then waking up and doing it again four days straight for 100 miles. This past week two of our Soldiers did just that at the International 4 Days Marches Vierdaagse Nijmegen ruck event in the Netherlands as part of the U.S. Army Europe team. Congratulations again to SSG Cena Duran and SGT Joel Mauricio! Their hard work--logging long hours rucking after the duty day had ended--paid off when they completed that challenge, earning the right to wear the Vierdaagsekruis Cross for Marching Proficiency. We are very proud of them for a job well done. #KnowYourMil #SoldierStory #ArmyTeams #ArmyMusic #NATO
We celebrated a lot exceptional soldiers today at the unit. SSG Sharier, we wish to sincerely thank you for your 20 years of Army service. We know you will continue to accomplish great things in retirement and we will miss having you here. We are also saddened to say goodbye to SGT Guffey, SSG Goode and CW2 Chapman as they take their many talents and extensive leadership qualities to other posts. The Band and Chorus accomplished great things thanks to your efforts. Thank you again!

Operation Tiger, also known as Exercise Tiger, is a lesser known and tragic training maneuver that was crucial in preparing the military for the Normandy invasion just one month later. With this video, we hope you will come away with a greater awareness and respect for the danger and uncertainty that awaited those both during preparations for and on D-Day, the largest and riskiest military invasion in history.
